Flying Sites

TOSS has access to two "flat land" permitted sites, one at Redwood Intermediate School in Thousand Oaks and one at the Paramount Ranch State Park in Agoura Hills. In addition to these sites we fly at several popular slope sites, two of which are identified here.
People who want to fly at our permitted sites should bear in mind that no powered planes of any sort are permitted at Redwood School and only sailplanes and small electrics at Paramount. Fliers should remember that we only keep these sites by being good neighbors so be careful with your plane. (It is especially important to keep planes away from horses.) Fliers should also be mindful of frequency control -- there are many places in the area where you may accidentally conflict with people flying small electrics or helicopters so if you do not know the area and who flies in there its advisable to use a scanner to check that your channel is clear before launching.
There are published "rules of the road" for Redwood school. Fliers are asked to abide by them as they are designed to minimize the possibility of accidents.
